All About Matthew
How long have you been racing?
I did 2 national events in 2014 to start and was runner-up
in my second event. In 2015, I did the full season at Santa Pod, winning the
Easter meeting and subsequently did the full national championship for 2016 and
2017 and had my highest placed finish last year.
My father had been a spectator for many years and I had been going with him for four seasons. On my eighth birthday, mum and dad took me to a junior dragster experience at Santa Pod and I really enjoyed it.
What is your favorite thing about racing?
I like talking and having a good time with my junior dragster friends but most of all I am there to race and win.
What is your favorite track to race on?
Santa Pod Raceway
What is one word that describes you best?
Competitive
What sets you apart from other racers?
Apart from being the tallest team, we are known for being well turned out. 
What are some of your racing accomplishments?
2018
-3rd place in track championship -2nd place in European finals -3rd place in national championship 2017 -Open Sport Nationals winner -2nd in the Avon Park championship -5th in the national championship 2016 -Number one qualifier at Open Sport Nationals -Number one qualifier in class at Junior Dragster Funday -Placed 11th in national championship 2015 -Festival of Power winner (in a Junior stock - possibly the first in the UK) -Placed 17th in championship 2014 -National finals runner-up
What are your goals for this season?
To improve on 5th place in the championship
What other activities do you enjoy outside of racing?
I like to play rugby and socialise with my friends
